SIM CARD is HIGHLY recommended!  Really cheap to just get one easily at a kiosk in the airport or on the street, for anything from directionsto booking your next hostel along your trip

Dehydration Tablets/Powder:  You can drink as much water as possibly, but getting dehydrated is way too easy here with the heat and humidity down south, so go to any pharmacy and get something to add to your water a couple times a day

Driving: Be careful when renting a motorbike and driving because the rules are very strange here.  Always be alert and patient!

Walking:  Walk at the same pace while you cross the road so that everything can try and dodge you.  Chicken/Frogger hop is a serious game here. 

• Locals gently wave at drivers when they want to cross and this was proven to be very effective and probably the safest thing to do!
